Testing And Assessment

I don’t like doing guesswork when it comes to what’s aggravating your symptoms. It’s almost always Best to Test!

By doing functional pathology and ordering some other testing, I can see not only what the numbers are for your nutrients, but figure out how well you’re using what you’ve got!

Often doctors might order testing and say that because no number is too low or too high, that there is nothing more they can do and that you’re “fine”.

I think there’s a lot more investigation we can do, despite what they might say!

Food Intolerance Test

This test determines food intolerances, not allergies. This makes it different than the allergy skin prick testing that your immunologist might have done on you.

The testing covers IgG and IgA antibodies, and after you have your results, we can work on a tailored diet plan for you that means you can still enjoy a varied diet that avoids your biggest inflammatory triggers.

I may order this if you experience:

  • Dermatitis
  • Digestive issues
  • Immune problems (particularly autoimmune)

Full Thyroid Panel

A full thyroid panel tests your TSH, T3 and T4 – the three most important hormones involved with thyroid function.

Did you know that Medicare commonly only offers to cover TSH testing from your GP, instead of covering all three hormones?

Without the T3 and T4, we really can’t tell anything about what’s going on with your thyroid.

This is why I will send you to the pathology lab myself with an order to get the full picture.

I may order this if you experience:

  • Fatigue
  • Chronic constipation
  • Anxiety
  • Rapid weight loss or rapid weight gain that is unexplained
  • Miscarriage

Hair Toxic Element Analysis

This test assesses the load of toxic heavy metals in your body. It is a great way to know if you have been exposed to too many toxins in your daily life and can help us focus your treatment plan appropriately to clear heavy metals if they are present.

I might order this test if you experience the following:

  • Migraines
  • Poor liver function
  • Excessive sweating from the hands or feet
  • You are aware of heavy metal exposure you have had in the past
  • Trouble losing weight

Microbiome Analysis

Assessing the balance of your microbiome is an essential part of correcting dysbiosis.

We need a picture of what bacteria is dominant so that we know which probiotics and dietary changes you need to restore healthy digestion.

I will order this test if you experience any of the following:

  • Digestive pain
  • Bloating
  • Diarrhoea
  • Constipation
  • IBS
  • IBD
  • Skin Issues
  • Hormonal Issues
  • Immune problems
